ABOUT US

Empowering Young Women. Supporting Education. Creating Opportunities.

Join KatFam Pads in providing sustainable solutions that empower young women and transform lives.

At KatFam Pads, our mission is to empower young girls in Uganda by breaking down the barriers to education and providing the resources they need to succeed. Many girls face significant challenges such as the lack of access to sanitary pads, school supplies, or the ability to afford school fees. These barriers often prevent them from attending school regularly and pursuing their dreams. We believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future for herself and her community.

Take Zawede’s story, for example. Zawede is a young woman from Jinja, Uganda. Like many girls in her community, she faced the harsh reality of missing school due to the inability to afford sanitary supplies and school fees. When Zawede’s period began, she was forced to stay home, fearing embarrassment and the inability to manage her menstruation without the proper supplies. Additionally, the financial burden of school fees made it even more difficult for her to continue her education. Her dream of becoming a doctor seemed increasingly out of reach.

But things began to change when Zawede received the support she needed from KatFam Pads. We provided her with reusable sanitary pads, which allowed her to attend school without fear or embarrassment. Additionally, we helped with her school fees, ensuring that she could stay in class and pursue her studies. The transformation was immediate—Zawede began attending school regularly, her confidence grew, and she excelled in her studies. Today, Zawede is on her way to achieving her dream of becoming a doctor, having been accepted into Makerere University, Uganda’s top university. She’s now studying medicine and is determined to make a difference in her community as a future healthcare leader.

Our approach goes beyond just providing materials—it’s about fostering dignity, confidence, and opportunity. By addressing the fundamental needs of education, menstrual hygiene, and financial support, we ensure that girls like Zawede have the chance to succeed and build a better future for themselves. At KatFam Pads, we believe that education is the foundation for empowering young women to break free from the cycle of poverty and become agents of change in their communities.

We are committed to creating lasting change by providing sustainable solutions that allow girls to thrive. Our work is rooted in the belief that every girl has the potential to change the world, and by supporting them in their educational journey, we can help them unlock that potential. Together, we can make a difference, one girl at a time.

At KatFam Pads, we provide sustainable solutions empowering marginalized girls to access education.

KatFam Pads works with local organizations to identify communities in need and ensure they receive support. We begin by addressing essential needs such as education, menstrual hygiene, and health, then help girls stay in school and achieve their goals. Our dedication and care show them they are valued, building trust and a sense of belonging. In their culture, those who help are seen as family.
